SETUP FOR

| Just
follow these simple steps to link the Pocket Spectrum Printer to your
HTC or MDA Pocket PC (eg: i-mate). Retire the wire!

STEP
1: Reset your Pocket Spectrum.
|

Start > Settings > System >
Bluetooth Settings If you do not have the Bluetooth Settings icon, you must upgrade your ROM. For i-mate devices, you will need ROM version 1.52 installed on your device along with the i-mate Bluetooth Patch. Files and instructions can be downloaded from the following file: iMATE.ROM.UPGRADE.ZIP Note: ROM version 1.66.xx contains a Blutooth Pairity Error and will not work with the Pocket Spectrum. To solve this problem, download iMATE.ROM.UPGRADE.ZIP and follow the instructions in the README file.

Select Outbound COM port If no Bluetooth device has been added to your Pocket PC, turn on your Spectrum printer. If Bluetooth is off, you will be asked to turn in on. When the printer (MobilePro) is located, tab on the Next button to initiate pairing, otherwise skip to Select MobilePro from the List.

Enter
1000
as the Device PIN, tap Next
|

Select
Mobile Pro from the list Tap ok to return to Bluetooth Settings. Tap ok and second time to exit back to System Settings. The Pocket Spectrum in now setup with your Pocket PC for a Bluetooth serial connection on the com port specified (default is normally Com 5). NOTE: AT THIS POINT TURN THE CARD READER OFF, WAIT A MINUTE, THEN TURN IT BACK ON. |

Open Pocket Verifier Software and
Log On

Choose
Pocket Spectrum in Options Screen

Change Com
Port to
5
in Settings menu (The default Bluetooth connection for i-mate devices is on Port 5. The assigned com port will be displayed next to Outbound COM Port in Bluetooth Settings. Your Pocket PC may differ. See the Using Bluetooth section in the manual that came with your Pocket PC for details.)

Change
Port Settings to
38400,N,8,1 The software automatically defaults to Pocket Merchant when you first launch the program. Pocket Merchant which has a port setting of 9600,N,8,1. You will need to change this to 38400,N,8,1 in the settings menu.

Your
Pocket PC is now setup to work with our Pocket Verifier software.
