Setup for Motorola Q Smartphone

Just follow these simple steps to link the Pocket Spectrum Printer to your Motorola Q Smartphone. Retire the wire!

Important:
It is recommended that you pair the Spectrum with your device before launching Pocket Verifier.

 
Step 1: Reset your Pocket Spectrum

Step 1: Reset your Pocket Spectrum.

Before you can pair the Pocket Spectrum with your device. the Pocket Spectrum should first be reset. To do this...

1. Turn off the Pocket Spectrum (if it is already on).
2. Plug in the charger for the Pocket Spectrum.
3. Press and Hold the
ON button.
4. When the paper starts advancing, release the
ON button.
    A diagnostic sheet will be printed.
5. After the print out completes, the printer is initialized.
   



 

Step 2: Turn ON your Bluetooth Connection
 

 

1. Turn on your phone.
2. Press the
Home button.
3. Locate and select
   
Start > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Manager > Settings…
4. Under the Status heading select
Bluetooth ON.
5. Select
Done.

    You must press
Done in order to start the connection.
    Once this is done. the Bluetooth connection is on and
    you are ready to go to the next step. 



 
Step 3: Pair your Device with the Pocket Spectrum
 

 

1. From Bluetooth Manager, select Settings.
2. Select
Menu > Paired Devices.
3. If more than one item appears in the list,
    select the Pocket Spectrum.
4. Enter the passkey:
1000
5. Press
Done.
6. After a brief pause select
Menu > Properties.
7. Check
On Connections authorized.
    You can also give the device a nickname.
    In this example SPECTRUM is used.

8. Select
Done.
9. Press the
Home key.

The Pocket Spectrum is now setup on COM1. This is the default COM Port and cannot be changed. The Spectrum can now be setup and connected through the Pocket Verifier software.

 NOTE: AT THIS POINT TURN THE CARD READER OFF, WAIT A MINUTE, THEN TURN IT BACK ON.

Step 4: Setup the Connection in Pocket Verifier
 

 

1. Start Pocket Verifier.
2. Logon and go to the Main Index screen.
3. Select
Settings.
4. Make sure Use Pocket Spectrum is checked
On.
5. Select
Menu > Check Bluetooth Connection.
6. When asked to confirm your connection, select
Yes.

At the next prompt, make sure the Pocket Spectrum is on and continue.

It is also recommended that you perform a small print test at this stage to make sure your Pocket Spectrum is functioning properly before using it in the field. After a brief pause the Pocket Spectrum will be setup.

 

 

Your Smartphone is now setup to work with our Pocket Verifier software.
