Which Smartphone do I chose?

Pocket Verifier Professional is available for dozens of wireless PDA's (Smartphones)!  There are actually too many to list here, we have listed the most popular of these units by carrier.

Our highest recommendations still go to the Palm OS based units, as they are far easier to operate for the beginner.  The Treo 650's are still available at VERY reduced prices from most carriers.  The new Treo 700P is basically a Treo 650 with additional memory, and a few minor enhancements. We have been using the Treo 650 and Pocket Merchant combinations on the MAC Tool trucks with near-perfect reliability!

The Treo 700W is a "hybrid" unit, using the Palm hardware and the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Operating System.  For those who need compatibility for other MS applications, or need to manage multiple email accounts on the same handheld, this is a good device.  Verizon has chosen to "lock out" the serial port, so you need to use our Bluetooth card reader with this one.  It also has a unique screen size,  (a standard Pocket PC is 240 by 320, the Treo 700W is 240 by 240).  Many manufacturers have not supported this new screen format, but we HAVE, and we have a special version just for this unit.

Standard Pocket PC's are a good choice for the Microsoft Mobile user.  The 6600 series units can use our Pocket Merchant (cabled card reader), while the 6700 series, 8125, and MDA devices use the Bluetooth readers. THe rich library of Pocket PC software can give the user many capabilities.

Microsoft Smartphones are incredibly small and the screens have very high resolution (actually the pixel counts are the same, but since the screens are smaller, they look almost photographic in their quality.  MS Smartphones do NOT have touch screens, so navigation is done with the keyboard, or a 5-way "pointing device"

Which printer / reader do I use?

The Pocket Merchant uses a cable to connect to your PDA Phone, while the Pocket Spectrum uses Bluetooth.  Some PDA Phones give you a choice of cable or Bluetooth, while some can use only one.  We have included the chart below so you can see your options.  Both units include our award winning software, Pocket Verifier Professional.  The Pocket Merchant is the easiest to use, as all you do is plug in the cable, turn it on, and it works (just like a toaster).  Bluetooth devices require software setup to establish the communication with your PDA and are recommended for more experienced or advanced users.

Pocket Merchant uses an included cable, and includes software, charger, leather case w/clip, and 4 rolls of paper (64 receipts per roll)
