These
people are INSANE, shipping to Nigeria!
If you do not already
know, Nigeria is the fraud CAPITAL of the WORLD. Somewhere in
Nigeria, there is ONE guy with a legit card, but we have not heard of
him yet! One of the reasons I do not recommend these bulletin
board forums, it that there are SO MANY of these posts, it takes too
much time for the average merchant to find information germane to their
business. If
you are wondering which other countries are on the "credit card
fraud hit parade", here is an alphabetic list: Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Burma, Burundi, Congo, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq ,Malaysia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Slovenia, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, Yemen, and Yugoslavia. International
transactions are ALWAYS risky, as you have NO recourse once the
package has left the country. Some merchants demand a faxed copy
of the front and back of the credit card, along with identification,
like a passport. This will work SOME of the time, but if the
fraudster has any experience with Photoshop, he can make a credit card
image that cannot be distinguished from the real thing. Where do
you think the credit cards in our product photos come from? If you ABSOLUTELY must sell something to someone in one of these countries, have them send you the funds Western Union. They have HUNDREDS of offices in Nigeria alone. Chances are, you will get a "long story" from the customer "why they cannot use Western Union". Remember the rule: The longer the story, the higher the probability of fraud. Last month Microsoft released
its monthly Security Update, and not surprisingly, a fake Microsoft
Security Update that included virus was released the next day.
Like clockwork, fake Microsoft Security Updates now follow real updates
each month. The real Microsoft Security Updates are released on the
second Tuesday of each month. How do you know if the
Microsoft Security Update is real or fake? One good indication is
that Microsoft will never send you an attached file. Microsoft always
includes a link back to their website, where you can download the real
patch. Unfortunately, you might also receive a phishing scam that claims
to be a Microsoft Security Update. So, the safest thing to do is to just
go to the Microsoft site security section and click on the current
month's update rather than click on the link for an update: http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.mspx

Finally, the Pocket
Merchants have arrived! With
demand soaring, we literally got caught with our "pants down",
and have dozens of merchants eagerly awaiting our latest batch of Pocket
Merchants!
Pocket Merchants ship absolutely complete. Inside the box, you
get the Pocket Merchant combination card reader and printer, leather case
with belt clip, 90 minute fast charger, data cable for your PDA,
Pocket Verifier Professional software for your PDA, and even 4 rolls of
paper!
If you have been
waiting for yours, wait no longer: Click
here to order the Pocket Merchant One major benefit of
the Pocket Merchant is the fact that it does not become obsolete as
technology marches on. We have merchants that purchased their Pocket
Merchant in early 2002, using a cable for the then-popular Palm
VIIx. A year later, upgrading to the Kyocera 7135 or Treo 270 or
Treo 300 was just a matter of changing an inexpensive cable, and now, with
the Treo 650 being the latest model, a simple cable change is keeping some
of these very first units in service today! Pocket Merchant has been
awarded Handheld Computing's Top Pick, as well as Microsoft's Windows
Mobile Certification.
These are extremely prestigious awards,
performed by professional, third-party evaluators. Pocket Merchant has
become the standard of the wireless point of sale industry
thanks to you, our customers, and our engineering staff, who are never
satisfied with "good enough". How can I get Pocket Merchant to work on my laptop? By using the Cables-to-Go USB to Serial converter, which we are bundling with the Pocket Merchant, and our Flagship PC software, PC Verifier. Normally the package would cost $437 (Pocket Merchant at $299, PC Verifier at $99, and USB to Serial Adapter at $39), but we are offering the bundle at only $337 - WOW - a $100 savings! You can order it by clicking here. Now your wireless laptop or PC can accept credit cards anywhere! |
If you are having difficulty getting a transaction through, and the "spinning cube" in the upper left hand corner does not change it's message for 20 seconds or more:
Your
connection may have been lost or interrupted.
An interruption in
service that you would barely notice when talking can invalidate either
your transaction,
or your reception of an approval. To re-establish the
connection, when the spinning cube's message has not changed for 20
seconds or more. simply tap on the spinning cube- you will then
see:
You can now press "CHARGE" again, to authorize the card. If the servers already approved the card, you will receive a copy of the auth code. You CANNOT "double charge" a card this way! Some people will want to start over, and re-swipe the card. If the previous attempt made it to the gateway, but was lost on it's way back to you, THAT would result in a double charge! NEVER swipe the card again, just keep working with the ORIGINAL swipe. Of course, if you are totally out of range, just press "STORE", and recall it later when you are back in range. |
