2006 in Review!

Every product gets better and better!

 As we celebrate the passing of 2006 we would like to thank our merchants, vendors, and partners that have made us so successful this past year.
We are looking forward to even faster growth, as we will be welcoming more large organizations as new mobile merchants in upcoming newsletters.

You can now generate a trouble ticket that we monitor on evenings and weekends! This support is PRIMARILY via email, but you can include a phone number where you can be reached.  This support is for our software and hardware packages only, billing and transactional problems are handled at the toll free number you were sent upon approval.  Response times can range from minutes to hours, depending on the time and day of submission.  Click here to see the trouble ticket entry form.

SPAM PROOF your web site! There are programs that search the web, and "harvest" e-mail addresses from your web site.  Here is an easy way to stop these programs COLD.  Its FREE and easy to do.  Here is how it works:  If you have an email address on your website, like this:
inform@merchantanywhere.com

Then a "harvester" can find it, and add it to it's list of victims to spam.  How do you prevent this?  Simple.  Use the FREE email Email Obfuscator available at: http://king-cart.com/cgi-bin/obfuscator.cgi this will take your email address, and change it into this:

<a href="mailto:&#100;&#101;&#110;
n&#105;&#115;&#64;&#109;&#101;
&#114;ch&#97;&#110;&#116;&#97;
&#110;&#121;&#119;&#104;e&#114;
e.&#99;&#111;&#109;">&#100;&#101;
&#110;&#110;&#105;&#115;&#64;
&#109;&#101;rc&#104;&#97;&#110;
&#116;&#97;&#110;&#121;&#119;
&#104;&#101;&#114;&#101;&#46;
&#99;o&#109;</a>

So What?  Well... If you take this result, and paste it into your HTML, it will APPEAR on your site as a normal email address like this:
inform@merchantanywhere.com

BUT
the email harvesters DO NOT SEE THIS AS AN EMAIL ADDRESS!  It will work exactly like the original address, but it has been converted into character codes that the harvesters cannot recognize.  This is a powerful, free technique that anyone can use, unless you actually enjoy getting emails for growth hormones, plastic inserts, or magic creams.
Many thanks to Marshall Dudley of www.KingCart.com  for this valuable and useful utility.

During 2006 we came out with more new products and enhancements than any other year in our history:

Last January, we introduced daily reports for our Palm based mobile units.  This feature, created by popular request lets our users get a daily report of all their credit card sales right from their handheld!. (Issue 96)

In March, after discovering a design flaw in the Treo 650 connector, we instituted a FREE REPLACEMENT program for all users of our Treo 650 cables. Other manufacturers would have charged their customers for these new cables, but we view customer satisfaction more seriously than others. (Issue 104)

Also in March, we enabled our Palm and Pocket PC users to receive updates "Over the Air", freeing our users from the need to go home to their PC's just to download our latest features and improvements. (Issue 105)

In April, we added support for the popular HP 6515 Mobile Messenger, with it's unique 240 by 240 screen and full keyboard. In addition, we received press coverage on one of our customers, 30MinuteMall.com who use our Pocket PC systems to deliver groceries to your door in the Indianapolis area! (Issue 107) & (Issue 109)

In May, we enhanced the Pocket PC product to support the various internet connectivity that the Pocket PC offers.. Automatically!  This makes connectivity to the internet as easy for Pocket PC users as 1-2-3. (Issue 111)

Also in May, we introduced our Pocket Verifier software for the Windows Smartphone.  Smartphone is a Windows Mobile variant without a touch screen, but the phones are incredibly small, and easy to carry.  Pocket PC's also got another upgrade to enhance the connectivity and ease of use of the Bluetooth Pocket Spectrum printer/reader.  (Issue 112) & (Issue 114)

In June, we enhanced the Palm version with features designed to speed up transactions:  Auto flip, auto bypass, auto print and other features designed to shave seconds off each and every transaction. (Issue 115)

In July, we added support for the long-awaited Motorola Q.  This slim phone became Verizon's flagship in advertising, but it seemed to sell more slowly than anticipated. The Motorola Q is one of the first Smartphones to use the 320 wide by 240 high screen format, like the new Samsung BlackJack. (Issue 117)

In September, we were awarded an "A" Rating by the Better Business Bureau.  Our corporate policy of honesty, integrity, and trying to give the merchant the best service we possibly can has paid off.  By dealing directly with the merchants ourselves, and not allowing anyone to resell our products and services, we have maintained a tight control over our customer service and sales so we can excel in our merchant's eyes. (Issue 123)

Also in September we introduced the Pocket Spectrum PLUS.  This took our famous Pocket Spectrum Bluetooth card reader and printer and added Lithium-ion replaceable batteries, along with a whopping 30% increase in printing speed!  We also introduced a USB-to-Spectrum cable so users could connect it to their PC's for in-office use. (Issue 126) & (Issue 125)

In November, we took some time for INTENSE management training...  Aerial combat style, using the book "Business as Combat" as our guidelines for application. (Issue 132)

In Early December, we released the long awaited Pocket Verifier Professional for the BlackBerry!  We had waited until after RIM's lawsuits had settled so we could be sure Blackberry would be stable here in the US, and developed the software in conjunction with one of our OEM partners, Primary Merchant Solutions of New York, who provided the development platform. (Issue 135)

Late December, we released an update that brings our PC product PC Verifier Professional into full compliance with the latest version of PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).  This latest version of the security regulation was released in late September 2006, so we feel that we are one of the first companies to respond for full compliance.  We felt this necessary, as many cities and municipalities are using this product, and we wanted them to have confidence that their products were compliant with the very latest in security standards! (Issue 136)
