Mac Tools Teaches Pocket Verifier

How does this sound-  Make extra $$$ in your spare time from home! There are a bunch of these going around and they all sound too good to be true:  An offshore company needs a US "representative" to collect money for them!  All you have to do is agree, and cashier's checks, money orders, even cash will be delivered to your door.  All you have to do is cash the checks, and wire the funds to the "parent" company overseas- and you get to keep 10 percent of the money!

This latest scam is potentially more dangerous to you than identity theft! What is really happening is: the scamsters are selling imaginary or stolen goods on the internet (usually through eBay or other auction venue), and giving your name and address as the payee.

The buyer may even "check you out", but you have a valid home at your address, and there are no warning signs, so they send the funds.  When you receive the check, you are thinking "gee.. what a wonderful deal!".  You cash the check, send off the 90 percent, and wait for the next check to roll in.

You may get dozens of checks, and be thinking of retirement when the police knock on your door. You will be very hard pressed to convince them that you are not the perpetrator of the scam, since you signed and cashed all the checks.  If the "products" were imaginary, and did not exist, all you may be liable for is restitution.  If the scamsters were shipping stolen goods to keep the scam rolling longer, you may be involved in more serious crimes!  

Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is....  unless you are referring to our software!

 
LAST MINUTE WARNING:  There are reports of high volumes of counterfeit Postal Money Orders and Cashier's checks being circulated.  Treat Money Orders and Cashier's checks like personal checks..  Wait for them to clear prior to shipment!
