Sprint and Verizon release TREO 700P

Sprint and Verizon will initially carry the Palm 700p

We have been warning you a long time about countries like Nigeria. Some of these countries have a major portion of their Gross National Product in credit card fraud.  The Police and government cooperate, it pays more than the government does!

Fortune Magazine and CNNMoney.com ran an interview with a scumbag named "Akin".  This dirtball makes millions scamming Americans' credit cards for stolen merchandise.

You can see the article here, it really is an eye-opener!  "Akin buys things online - laptops, BlackBerries, cameras, flat-screen TVs - using stolen credit cards and aliases. He has the loot shipped via FedEx or DHL to safe houses in Europe, where it is received by friends, then shipped on to Lagos to be sold on the black market. (He figures Americans are too smart to sell a camera on eBay to a buyer with an address in Nigeria.)"

With all the credit card and Social Security data being stolen from government and corporate laptops, here is a unique FREE solution:
TrueCrypt is a free, open source software system for establishing and maintaining an on-the-fly-encrypted volume (data storage device). On-the-fly encryption means that data are automatically encrypted or decrypted right before they are loaded or saved, without any user intervention. No data stored on an encrypted volume can be read (decrypted) without using the correct password or correct encryption keys. Entire file system is encrypted (i.e., file names, folder names, contents of every file, and free space).

TrueCrypt has been lauded by Steve Gibson at Grc.com, and works on any Windows PC/Laptop
.  It even has a feature to 'fool' someone if you are 'forced' to give up your password!  Just give up the distress password, and the hacker will only see files you left there as a diversion!

Unfortunately, since this is a free solution, governments are unlikely to use it.  They seem to be happy in proportion to the amount of our dollars they can spend.  take a look for yourself at www.TrueCrypt.org

The next generation of the Palm is here.
The 700p, with the 'p' indicating Palm OS, to differentiate it from the 700w (which is Windows Mobile) started shipping a week ago.

We have tested the 700p from Sprint, and it works perfectly with our software, as well as the Pocket Merchant and Pocket Spectrum card readers and printers.

There is not a whole lot of difference from the 650, most of them are here:

1) Web browsing is faster, if you do much of it.
2) 62 MB internal RAM
3) Comes with a bunch of nice apps
4) Bigger keys and much more functional 5-way button control.
5) Battery life is supposed to be improved.
6) Sound quality is better and louder.
7) Much faster display due to faster CPU - has a noticeably peppier feel.
8) Camcorder and Camera much nicer - improved resolution
9) Camera optics are a little smaller
10) Beaming opening is about 50% smaller.
11) Side switches are flat, not curved.
12) Speaker grill is bigger (square) instead of round.

Our recommendation is that if you want a great PDA at a cheap price, locate a Treo 650, as we have heard that the dealers are blowing them out cheap!  Those of you using the Treo 300 or 600 might want to take advantage of this, but we hear that the carriers will stop selling the 650 as soon as they run out!

Certainly, there is no reason for 650 owners to rush out and buy a 700p
, especially at a retail price of $649, but it does mean that we will have a solid supply of stable, easy to use handhelds for the next year or two.  Thank goodness Palm decided not to change the connector again!

This lovely home was listed in Sacramento Magazine.  Nice house, I just could not live at that address!

Featured in Country Home magazine, this historic creek side Gold Country address is located just steps from the Amador City boardwalk. The 3-story, 2,540 sq. ft., 3 bedroom, 3 bath main house was designed to blend with the Gold Rush style of the town. The adjacent 650 sq. ft. guest house/artist’s studio is a replica of a gold miner’s shack and is zoned C1. Both homes are all modern construction, energy efficient and overlook Amador Creek. $1,200,000. 10741 Pig Turd Alley, Amador City.
