Truncation - Protecting Customers' Credit Card Numbers
In an effort to minimize the opportunity for credit card fraud, Visa and MasterCard, along with numerous state legislatures, have mandated that credit card account numbers and expiration dates be masked on consumers' receipts. New truncation compliance does not apply to transactions in which the only way to record the card number is via hand writing or an imprint or copy of the card.

The following State Legislatures have mandated truncation by January 1, 2004: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico and Utah. Penalties for non-compliance vary by state. We recommend visiting your state's public information sites.

The Treo 300 uses the Nationwide high-speed Sprint Vision Network. You will need to call Sprint and activate a new number, or have an existing Sprint number moved to this unit. Charges will be dependent on the number of voice minutes, and the plan you select.  Sprint has a deal where you DO NOT pay a fixed amount for data, just 1 cent per kilobyte.  A credit card transaction (with signature) is only 2 to 3 kilobytes!
