Pocket PC's get New Upgrades!

The two most requested enhancements for Pocket PC have arrived!

Please take a moment on Memorial day to remember the brave soldiers that paid the ultimate price in defending this country and freedom around the world.

Our servicemen have protected this planet from those that would corrupt it for over 200 years with their own lives and blood.  Just as many of you do not remember Hitler, your children may not remember Hussein, but the heroes that defeated both of them should be remembered forever for their dedication and sacrifice.

We will, of course, be closed in observance of Memorial day, merchants needing help can use our Trouble Ticket system or leave a voicemail message which is periodically monitored on holidays.

Just when we should be honoring our Veterans, we need to warn them instead. America's veterans were sent scrambling for their credit reports Monday, as the Veteran's administration announced nearly all of them as well as some of their family members were at heightened risk for identity theft.

A long-time analyst at the massive federal agency was blamed for the theft of 26.5 million Social Security numbers after he took home sensitive data and his home was burglarized, the agency said. Now the VA is sending letters to every living veteran and some of their spouses with the bad news.

The stolen data included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and numerical disability ratings. The theft occurred in May, but the agency released few additional details.  It would not say what the analyst was working on that required him to take that much information home.

Veterans are being urged to check their credit report for free at AnnualCreditReport.com, and consider placing a fraud alert on their credit files at the nation's three credit bureaus. Stolen socials are the most dangerous, as they can be used to get fresh credit cards issued, directly at the fraudster's address.

The beta version of our auto connect feature for Pocket PC is now a formal release
. One thing that has made Pocket PC's a little harder to use has been that they do not automatically connect to the internet on demand (except for the built in Explorer).  Usually done by tapping on the antenna icon on the menu bar at the top, or by starting Internet Explorer, this manual connection has been an extra step for all Pocket PC users.

When we developed our version for the Treo 700, we came up with our auto-connect technology.  This allowed us to connect to the wireless network automatically.  Now our Pocket PC users get the came convenience that our Palm users have had for years.  Just go to the Options screen, and select your Internet connection in the Connections selection box.

Once you have selected your connection, Pocket Verifier can connect automatically, whenever it needs to!

The second most requested improvement was improved Bluetooth connectivity.
While the Palm verifies the connection every time you use it, the Pocket PC does not, and in order to make the Bluetooth interface more robust, we re-engineered the Bluetooth connectivity.

There are no settings or changes associated with the changes in the Bluetooth, simply install the latest version from our FREE Upgrades page!

Remote controls are part of everyday life. not just for TV's, Stereos, etc, but now even cameras and cars have them.  Early remotes for television used little hammers to strike bars of metal that "rang" at specific frequencies, making a "click" when used.  That is where the term "clicker" came from when referring to remotes.

The first Patent for a remote control worked a little differently, it was just a stick that had an attachment to operate the knobs:

Very primitive in comparison to modern technology, much like traditional wireless credit card systems are stone-age compared to our PDA solutions!
